Sadie had her 12 month appointment today.
I was dreading it all day.
I love that she can walk but with that independence comes a certain amount of stubbornness and rebellion.
Things like Doctors appointments and grocery shopping are like torture. For her and for me.
I was pleasantly surprised when she was an absolute angel!
(It helped that the nurse that took all of her measurements and vitals was a gigantic black man)
She hardly even moved the whole time we were with him.
The look on her face when he measured her was absolutely priceless.
I was trying so hard not to burst out laughing!
Then he dropped the bomb on me.
We had to do shots AND get her blood drawn.
My heart sank. I was going to have to hold down my baby while people stuck A LOT of needles into her. At least with the shots I knew it would be fast. But getting two viles of blood out of her would be impossible. Or so I thought...
She sat in my lap and didn't even make a sound the whole time they drew her blood.
They even missed her vein and had to fish for it for a while.
I don't know, maybe she was in shock or something but she was SOOO good.
I was beaming with pride!
The shots didn't do quite as well but it was over fast. Plus I got to sneak in some cuddles.
We survived the day and that's all that matters.
here's her stats Weight:19.5 lb 22%
Height:27.87 in 11%
I don't remember the actual measurement for her head but I do know she was in the 95%. She's a little tiny girl with a huge noggin. I tell her its because her brain is so big :)
