Ever since I left the nest I've dreamt of one thing.
My heart has yearned for it once a week on the day I like to call "Laundry day".
Let me give you a little history.
At my first apartment the laundry room and I never met. Not once.
At the time I was a measly little freshmen so like most freshmen,
I was home every other weekend.
So naturally all dirty laundry came with.
Only a minor inconvenience but just enough of an inconvenience to plant the seed of longing.

Then it happened.
I gained some independence and did my own laundry.
It was then that I felt the bitter sting of Logan winters as I drug my heavy laundry basket with contents spilling out all the way to the laundry room.
(Gasp did I seriously drop my underwear in front of the boys in #4?)
Down icy steps and through a foot of snow I carried those loads of laundry.

My hands blistering from the sharp edges of that blasted basket.

Then marriage happened.
I thought "surely I'll get my own laundry room now!"
Sadly the apartment we found had no w/d for miles.
But the rent was incredibly low so my dream would be put on hold.
and I was ok with it.
I was a young newly wed full of energy.
Then pregnancy happened.
As my belly bump got bigger,
suddenly lugging the huge laundry basket around didn't seem like such a good idea.
Actually, the day I went into the hospital to have Sadie I had been doing laundry.
Now I'm convinced that it was the laundry that did it.
My desire for my own laundry room grew right along with my belly.

Finally the day has come.
My new arrival has arrived.
and I couldn't be happier.

The END.
