Rapture

So its 6:09pm. No earthquakes. No judgement day. Just a really HOT day. Like the kind of heat that is too dangerous for fatties like me to wander out into. Poor Sadie has cabin fever she wants to go out SO bad. I went out long enough to eat a Popsicle with her but then I was done. I'll admit I'm a little disappointed I assume that if the rapture did come today I would no longer be pregnant. BUT I'm am feeling OK about myself today. While I was driving to my friends baby shower I got hit on by some boys in a sports car. Usually I would be pretty annoyed and maybe even show off my long finger but my fragile ego needed the boost. So I waved my wedding ring at them and moved on. I was half tempted to lift myself up so they could see "the BELLY" their expressions would be pretty funny I think.

Freak Show

I was the freak show at Walmart today. WALMART. On a Friday night. Hookers and gangsters aplenty and I was the one pointed at, laughed at, and asked by 4 groups of people "When are you due??" Me: "June 17" Them: "Oh! Do you think you'll make it? You're huge!" All 4 groups had different varieties of these same questions and responses which actually didn't bug me as much as the staring and snickering. I feel like I probably shouldn't go out of my house anymore. Maybe I'll join the circus for the next few weeks. Make a little extra cash. :)

Still Life...

Today Sadie and I went for a walk. I "might" have been attempting to induce labor. It didn't work but oh well, it was worth a shot. I can think of worse ways of attempting to induce labor, and better ways for that matter (wink wink) When we got home I sat down at the kitchen table and didn't move. I sat there for an hour doing absolutely nothing. Sadie climbed up on me and fed me some lucky charms but other than that I sat completely still. I'm not sure why I did this. I didn't even realize it until I looked at the clock in the kitchen and realized it was time to start dinner. It was really nice actually. The TV was off, the computer was off and it was peaceful. I got to enjoy Sadie without distractions. I got sad when I realized that life as we know it is about to change. It's a good change but a change nonetheless. Thats life though I guess. Not only will we be adding a new baby to the mix but on July 1st we'll also be closing on our first house. It's a lot to take on!

Just because

The look of love on her face as she watches her daddy pull up is priceless. As soon as she saw him she yelled "Dadda!" She's definitely a daddy's girl!

Myrtle Beach, SC

Day 2 of my sisters visit we went down to Myrtle Beach, SC. It's only a 2 hour and 20 minute drive from our house which isn't really that bad (unless you're pregnant). The drive was beautiful but I was pretty uncomfortable. I'm glad we went though. Unfortunately the weather wasn't ideal but we managed to have a good time regardless. There's lots to do at Myrtle Beach, there's the beach, outlet malls, the boardwalk, and the Ripley's Believe it or Not museum, and the Ripley's aquarium. We just did the beach, boardwalk, and museum. The museum was really cool. I learned how to make a shrunken head! So don't ask me if I'm having twins OR ELSE!

This week...

Jambaas Ranch

My sisters got into town on Thursday. One of the things that they wanted to do while they were here is go to Jambaas ranch. We had a lot of fun and Sadie was so brave to feed all the animals. She let a huge elk nibble on her fingers! There's no way I would do that. Even if they don't have top teeth!

Homemade Samoa's (Caramel de-lights)

I love girl scout cookies. Unfortunately, they keep getting more and more expensive and with that smaller and smaller. I bought a box because I was having major prego cravings for them but they disappeared quickly. Too quickly for my cravings to be completely satisfied. When I saw this recipe I was so happy. I HAD to try it. One word of warning would be to make sure you have a few hours to make these cookies because they are pretty time consuming. But they are totally worth it! Here is the link to the recipe http://bakingbites.com/2008/01/homemade-girl-scout-cookies-samoas/. Follow her advice and get good quality caramels. I didn't and the caramel part didn't stick to the cookie part very well. Oh well, they are still delicious :)
