The New Place-Missouri

Our bedroom: I would have to say this is my least favorite part of the apartment. We were lucky to find a furnished apartment so at least our clothes have somewhere to go. The dresser drawers don't have stoppers on them so they fall out right on your toes. I loath those dressers. I didn't get a picture of the bathroom because it wasn't clean when I took the pictures and I'm just too lazy to do it now. But I think you can picture it: tub, toilet, sink. Also, every time I get out of the shower another tile cracks. It feels like I'm walking on egg shells. Whoever did the tile in this apartment did a really bad job. I think you can see it in the kitchen picture pretty well. The floor is all taped up so the broken tiles wont cut us.

Our view from the front of the apartment. Notice mine is the ONLY car in the parking lot. That's because from the hours of 5am to 5pm Sadie and I are the only people around. Everyone else is military in the whole building. It's good for when she is screaming but it can get really lonely. I try to fix this by going on a walk but usually I only see a dog or two and as you can see we are surrounded by forest so I run out of places to walk. I have to do two laps around the neighborhood just to get 3 miles in. There are lots of hills though so it makes for a pretty good work out. If I got really desperate I guess I could go on base to where the people are but something about the military base depresses me. I don't know, I guess driving down the road next to huge army vehicles intimidates me. Not to mention how drab everything is. Brown is definitely the army's favorite color. Plus, when they are using our tax dollars who can afford a decorator? I know its a good thing that our money isn't being wasted on making the base pretty but it still doesn't make it any easier to go there.
The kitchen and dining area. I like all of the space that the kitchen provides but we really don't need it since all we brought can fit into two cupboards. I have found comfort in the kitchen since we got here. I really don't have anything to do so trying new recipes has become a hobby to me. I don't know if I'm any good or not but I'm learning. Actually, since the only fast food available is Arby's and Burger king. Cooking became more of a necessity than anything. What I wouldn't do for a Carls jr...I'm actually really happy that I haven't eaten fast food in a month. I feel great!
Our front room also known as Sadie's room. We regret not having gotten a 2 bedroom apartment but when we got here there were only 3 apartments available, the first was smaller than this one and the second was a trailer. So here we are. After Sadie's bed time (9pm) we have to tip toe around and whisper. We usually go to bed by 10 anyways because Ben has to be up usually around 4 or 5 am so its not too bad. Overall I like this apartment better than the last one. Also our ward is amazing here. In my Logan ward people were still asking if I was new after being there for a year. It was really depressing. Ben and I got called to the primary our second week here and we love it. Plus everyone in the ward is military so its nice to have that support group. A lot of people that I have talked to have lived in North Carolina and they all loved it so I'm really excited to get there.
