A few weekends ago Ben and I decided it was time to get out of St. Roberts so we looked online for things to do and we found a zoo in Springfield. So we called up our friends the
Foxs' and headed out. The drive was beautiful. It was just after the first rain so the trees had just a touch of green, purple, and white. It was like driving through a watercolor painting. It felt so good to get away, it was the first time leaving the little town of St. Roberts since we got here.
The zoo was great because all of the animals were really active. My favorite was the Hippo. I think Sadie liked the lions the best. She growled at them a few times. I don't know where she learned that but its pretty funny. She also growls at the vacuum and blow dryer. Cute girl.
The goats were fun. I looked away for one second and when I looked back Sadie's foot was being eaten by a goat. It didn't bite her very hard (thank goodness). I don't think she even noticed.
After the zoo we explored the rest of Springfield. For you
Utahns its a lot like Layton. I know, not great but it's the best I've got. We went to the mall so I could get some church shoes and some new clothes. Then we ate at
Applebee's. I got a free salad because there was a rubber glove in my first. Yum! Despite that it was a pretty great day.
