OCTOBER 18TH, 2017

The weather was really nasty today. Cold, rainy, and super windy.

Rain and glasses don't mix! I started thinking about LASIK today.

I had my first piano lesson in 25 years today! It was a little frustrating but I loved it. I can't wait to get better.
 Sadie at her piano lesson.

Soccer practice was canceled because of the weather so I was trapped inside all day with these little rascals. We kept busy by writing sight words in flour.

Doing art hub videos on YouTube. (you draw along with them)
It keeps the kids busy for hours!

And did a movie night. We watched E.T. and ate popcorn!

Kinley's face when E.T. screams was hilarious! It was intense!
After dinner the kids put on plays for us. I was really cute.

I'm in intense pain on the left side of my face.
I just can't decide if I have a sinus infection or if I have a bad tooth or something. It hurts!! I'll call the dentist tomorrow.

OCTOBER 17TH, 2017

It’s funny how one day you can be super motivated and pumped to work out and then the next is sooooo hard to get motivated.
Today was a hard day. Maybe it was the rain? The weather man said today was the start of the “rainy season” which means that here in Washington we won’t see the sun until May. It’s a depressing thought.

Anywho,
I forced myself over to LA Fitness for a half hearted shoulder work out. I’m glad I went even though it was basically torture 😂. Kinley and I stopped at Goodwill before to look for sheet music but no luck. She begged me to let her buy a book so she got a Sesame Street book. She looked for a book that specifically had a baby in it. She’s obsessed with babies! I got Sadie a Origami book but forgot to get something for Tyson so I haven’t shown it to her yet. I don’t want him to feel bad so maybe I’ll go find him something tomorrow. The books are only 30 cents so it’s not a big deal.
When we got home I showered and then cleaned the house since my visiting teachers were coming over. The kids had a half day today because of parent teacher conferences so Sadie went and played at her friend Fiona’s house. She’s super excited because she bought a journal today with her own money. It’s got a lock and everything! Hopefully she can do a better job of journaling than I did. I told her to write how old she is in all the posts so I’ll do the same. I’m 32, Ben is 32 as well. Sadie is 7, Tyson’s 6, and Kinley is 3.

My visiting teachers came over (20 minutes late!) and threw my whole day out of whack. I like punctuality but it was sweet of them to come over. It just meant I had to rush them out and I was late to pick Sadie up. I felt bad about both.
We had to be at gymnastics at 5pm. We were late (this is why I like people to be on time!) the kids were being super obnoxious at gymnastics so they both ended up in time out where they continued to be obnoxious.
 They would NOT stop fighting.
That's Sadie's signature move. The ear grab.
 In time out.
Being obnoxious in time out.
Ben came straight from work after Kinley’s class and stayed with them so he could study for the GMAT he’s taking Saturday (good luck babe!) and so I could make dinner. Here’s what we’re having >> https://simplybeingmommy.com/2017/01/03/easy-ravioli-bake/
Sadie said on a scale from 5 to 11 it got an 11. It was a hit! Kinley said the cutest prayer that included “thank you for our Jesus” and “Jesus loves us” I love this age!

OCTOBER 16TH 2017

Today was pretty fun. And it was beautiful today.

After I got the kids to school Kinley and I went to the gym. I did an awesome leg workout which left me energized (not tired like usual). I felt good all day. I only started back at the gym last week. It had been since May but I had forgotten how much I love working out. I already see a huge difference from last week.

We rushed home from the gym to hurry and shower before Anne Spencer dropped off Isaac. He played here while they went to parent teacher conference. Then she watched Sadie and Kinley while I went to Tyson's parent teacher conference.

The kids have half days all week. Tyson's teacher is Ms. Radtke. She said he's doing great! He knows all of his colors, shapes, letters, and letter sounds. I'm so proud of him! I'm so glad we decided to hold him back for one more year of Kindergarten. I had Ben bring him home Raspberry sherbet ice cream as a reward for doing so well.

Before soccer practice we hid our painted rocks as kind of a
FHE activity. Someone already found them! The kids had a lot of fun with this.

We went to soccer practice early so the kids could have a chance to play a little. We had fun! I brought Missy. She was a pain in the butt but she had fun playing with all the other dogs and she attracted a lot of kids over to pet her. She's very popular. She was a happy girl!

We love the Fort Steilacoom park. It's HUGE! A lot of the parks around here are very impressive. It's a nice change from North Carolina where you have like 1 park full of fire ants. There's a chestnut tree (I was super disappointed to find out it's the poisonous kind not the yummy kind) but we played a game where we threw the chestnuts into a trash can. Sadie and Ty loved it! We couldn't get Kinny into though so we had to stop. She just wanted to play.
Towards the end of soccer practice I ran into Mandy Dustin and she let me know that her daughter Claire (she's in his class) wants to marry Tyson. I told him about it and he tried to play it cool but he was super excited. He was very disappointed last week when a boy in the class (Brady?) kissed her on the mouth. He didn't say that but I could tell.

365 Project comes to an END!

Some of you may be confused as to why my 365 photography project is coming to an end in the middle of the month. Seems weird right? Well I started this project on the day my baby girl Kinley was born. As a way to challenge myself to take a picture everyday so that I would have the camera close at all times as to not miss any important moments. I had Sadie and Tyson so close together that I missed a lot of Tyson's first year due to stress and exhaustion. This is my last baby so I have to enjoy every moment!

I'm so grateful that I did this because I grew as a photographer and I have all of those precious moments throughout the year documented. So now that it's over I'm not going to be able to stop (Sorry if you're sick of seeing us around!) but I'm taking it to the NEXT LEVEL and doing a video a day! Some days may only be a minute of footage and some may be 10 (I don't think I'm going to do over 10 unless I feel it needs it). We've chosen YouTube as our platform to share these videos. Our channel name is Our Army Life. Please subscribe! It's no fun doing all the work of making a video and having NO ONE watch. Sure we'll be awkward at first as we learn to talk to a camera (especially is PUBLIC, YIKES!!!) but it'll be a learning experience for all of us. Also, did you know you can make money off of your YouTube videos? Win win I say! We don't think we are going to get rich or famous by any means BUT if we can make enough to pay for the cameras we bought to make the videos then I'll be elated!

If you've read this far then give yourself a pat on the back from me because I know I wouldn't have made it through! That's the good thing about video. Listening is easy! OK I'm done now! Sorry!
